Hi all,
I've been working without permit since March 2006. I started working because my husband was a full-time student at the time and we needed extra money. He just found a job and is starting at a new position Monday next week. I know this might be a problem at the interview but we had no choice at the time so we did it the way we did. Now we got RFE letter requesting employer's letter and tax returns. (We forgot to include pay stubs and employer's letter with the application). Since my husband was a full-time student he didn't file any taxes and we will send in letter of explanation.
Other thing, since we filed before new forms came to the effect, we
signed contract between household member&sponsored immigrant (which
is me). I make more than the requirement. But I am concerned
considering since I've been working without a permit. Should we just
look for a joint sponsor (my husband's sister most likely) or wait a couple
of weeks till he gets his pay stubs or we can use my earnings to
proove adequate financial means? Please help if you can.

Working without a work permit is a serious matter. I realize millions of people do it, but now you are trying to "become legal". You need to familiarize yourself with immigration law or hire a good lawyer. In my amateur opinion, I'd suggest you not send anything to USCIS until you fully understand what you are getting into and the ramifications. There are ways to get around the income requirements on the Affadavit of Support, but I'm not certain there are any good ways to get around working illegally. A professional would be better able to advise you on this situation.
 
As far as I know, if you are married to a USC, your previous illegal working would be forgiven. I am pretty sure though, since you kept on working without a permit after you applied for AOS, it's gonna cause trouble, and I would NOT use your income, but find a sponsor.

When did you receive your EAD? Have you received it yet?

All in all, I agree with Just Counting, and I would get some good legal advice from a professional.
