I got the stupidest RFE ever. My lawyer received it today. It asks to file new I-140 or prove succesor-of-interest due to my company\'s acquisition during the GC process. The fact of the matter is that I am self-petitioned NIW so it doesn\'t matter, but I don\'t completely blame the INS for the RFE it is also because of my incompetent lawyer. Here is the complete story-
1) When I filed my I-140 NIW petition the INS made a mistake and put my employer\'s name in the petitioner box when the approval notice came. I noticed it after three months brought it to my lawyer\'s attention after which we asked INS for an amendment. The amended approval came after 7 months.
2) Then my lawyer screwed up when we filed the I-485 and failed to attach the amended I-140 approval notice and attached the original I-140 approval notice which showed my employer as the petitioner. By this time the acquisition had occurred. Again I brought this to lawyer\'s notice when I found the mistake and we sent INS a separate letter with the amended I-140 approval notice. It looks like this letter never made it into my I-485 file. So we are just going to send the amended I-140 approval notice in reply to the RFE.
Just because of INS and lawyer\'s mistake my approval is getting more delayed. Anyway I have never gotten anything in life easily. Always had to struggle, so I guess the saga continues.......
