Looks like several people are getting RFE\'s this week. Can we keep this chain open for sometime? My case RFE issued for both me and my wife on Apr 24th. Once my lawyer receives it I\'ll share more info. He has the habit of usually not answering phone calls.

Sedcat66 - You are right about so many RFEs this week.
I just heard for my case on the AVM that "On April 25, 2001
we mailed you a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case."
If I don\'t receive within 14 days or have any questions, I should contact IIO. This is only for me alone.
For my spouse\'s case, it is the usual, "your application for adjustment.." message.

RFE experts please answer the following questions:

1/ please tell me what INS usually asks.
2/ Who receives this letter?
3/ When do I/lawyer receive this?

any additional information, etc., so that I can prepare.

I can see clearly now that I am getting closer to approval.

Snader, most likely your RFE is going to ask for Employment letter, Salary, last 3 pay stubs, year 2000 W-2, job description and weather there would be job after the GC.

I received 3 RFE\'s - on 4/9/01 two for both my kids asking their long Birth Certificates, and on 4/18/01 one for me asking for employment letter... etc. stuff.
My attorney received Birth Certificates on 4/20th, and same day he submitted it to INS. Tomorrow he\'ll recieve my stuff from my company, and I assume same day he\'ll send it to the INS like before.

It\'ll be nice if we can keep this thread alive for a few weeks. This way we can try to avoid screw-ups from INS and lawyers.

Heard from AVM that RFEs were issued on 4/24/01 for all my family members. My family includes me, my wife and my daughter. Anybody has any idea what those might be?

Lawyer recvd RFE y\'day(Apr 26th). My RFE was for current letter of employment and pay stubs for last 2 months.
My wife\'s RFE was to do the Medical examination again. She could not do the skin test for TB,as she was pregnant that time.

Yes. I changed my address on March 1,2001. All you have to do is call INS and report it (802)527-4913

YoYo, most probably RFE would be like:
(a) for yourself, employment letter, W-2, paystubs
(b) for your kids, birth certificates
(c) for your wife, possibly marriage certificate, medical,

Thank you for the reply. My lawyer just called me about RFEs. You are right that I got employment letter, W-2, last two month’s earning-statements. And my entire family is being requested to redo the medical exam. The reason for this is that VSC says the doctor who did exam on us is not an INS designated doctor. We feel it is very strange because we got this doctor from the list of INS approved doctor in 1999. And because of this doctor was an INS designated doctor, he refused to accept any insurance referral and claimed to only accept checks and cash, additionally, he said that was INS’ policy. We paid almost $700 for the exam.

It is so weird that VSC says that doctor is not their designated doctor. Even our lawyer feels strange about that because this doctor is on his INS doctor list too. However, our lawyer did not recommend us to argue with INS. He just suggests us to find another INS designated doctor to redo the exam. We are going to rearrange this exam next week.
Anyway this is so weird, not only does it waste our money unnecessarily, but also it delays our process.

Anybody has similar experience?

I am sure there must be a web site maintained by INS about doctor\'s list. Before you go, check that list against your list. I would even check to see if your doctor who did the examination is on that list too.

Either way, I think your lawyer is a wise guy. I wouldn\'t argue with INS either. It would just delay things, if they get pissed at you, they might delay processing for unknow reasons.

RD 01/10/00 ND 01/25/00 EB2 India

Got RFEed o 23rd Apr. Received it on 25th Apr (Employment Letter). Got the letter back to Lawyer on 27th Apr.
