RFE Response receive by INS on Dec 4

My RFE response was received by INS on Dec 4th. How long does it usually take after the RFE response is received to approve it?

Since I am planning a visit to India in January I want to make sure that my approval does not arrive at that time and if there are chances that it might happen I will postpone my visit .

Any suggestions?
 
My guess is that it will all depend on when they will start approving 485 cases again. I am hoping there will be a flood of approvals after that.

why r u concerned about getting the approval while you are on vacation, will that be a problem or your concern is limited to getting the stamping done first.

The reason i am asking is bcos i want to know that what will happen if your I-485 is approved while you are not on vacation and you are travelling on your H1b.

30 day limit after approval

The reason I am concerned is becuase there is a 30 day period after teh 485 approval that you need to get the passport stamped according to my knowledge. So if i am on a vacation then I might not be able to get it stamped in time. That was my concern.

LEt me know if this is a valid concern .
 
ur concern is valid

From my limited knowledge the 485 approval comes with an expiry date on it. Usually a month are so. If the stamping is not done within that time frame, the security clearance should be redone on the case with IBIS etc.
There was an advisory on murthy.com about this quite sometime ago. Search FAQ or the websearch in murthy.com to confirm this.
