My lawyer received an RFE for current letter of employment and
additional evidence of birth.

RD Nov 30, 2001
ND Dec 4, 2001
FP July 2002

The AVM message still says that they sent out the FP notice.

"Evidence of birth".. It appears that somebody at the INS has suddenly developed a sense of humor! What can be further evidence of your birth than your existence! Just kidding.. I guess they are just, in their usual muddled fashion, trying to make the connection between the event of birth and who you claim to be today (I am presuming that your record of birth does not readily indicate a name). Affidavits from your parent/s affirming this should take care of this.
 
Hey Googol, could you ask your attorney if there's a baseline for how long we suppose to hear something after the RFE response. I know maybe nobody can answer this exactly, just seem to be waiting for a "googol" days :).
 
Need NSC inquiry Fax #

I have responded to RFE in Feb '03 via my lawyer. How long should one wait for response? I heard there is a fax inquiry # for NSC.

My situation is just similar to yours. I have the same dates for RD, ND, and reason for my RFE is also same except the birth certificate. Did you reply for the RFE? I sent the details to my lawyer but she has to send them yet.

I had submitted a birth certificate with my name, parent's name etc but
it was issued only recently (just before i applied for the 485). So i guess i need to send birth affidavits from immediate family.

My lawyer says after RFE if they find everything else ok it can still take anywhere between a few weeks to a few months. (not very helpful, is it?)

Appears like this is standard RFE.
- Employment verification RFE is routine. My lawyer mentioned
to me before applying for 485 that this one is certain due to
time it takes before they are about to approve.
- RFE in case of a recent birth certificate is also routine (at least
I have seen a number of cases comes up in this forum)

Appears like you are soon to get approval.
