RFE received- Please help

Hi

I was laid off from a company 3 months back. I have now been working as an independent contractor. According to the immigration website, I have received an RFE .I DOn't know the details about RFE since I am yet to receive the letter.
CAn anybody tell me:
The different reasons for recieving RFE.
Is the RFE letter sent only to the lawyer or is a copy sent to me too.
How do you notify the INS about working as an independent consultant?

Q: The different reasons for recieving RFE.
A: Most common in EB2/EB3 is probably employment related (letter + description + paystubs + W2). Next is medical, Birth Certificate other documents you might have missed during filing.

A: Should be to both but INS is known to screw up
Q: How do you notify the INS about working as an independent consultant?
A: *Consult a lawyer on this one*. While replying to the RFE just include a letter as to why you qualify for GC as an independent consultant (AC21, job description etc). Also will need paystubs, W2 and some kind of letter from the company where you have the current project.

I think its just sent to the lawyer.
 
Guys I have a question,

My rfe response was received by INS on 17th june. By approval time, do you guys think my wife would get approved too. Or it is treated as separate case?. As of today her status says resumed after fingure printing results.....
