RFE Receipt Date at BCIS

I dropped off all my RFEs that were asked by BCIS three weeks ago at my lawyer's office. In fact, just to be sure of proper and prompt process, I personally handed them to the paralegal who has been handling my case. She assured me that it was going out the next morning via FedEx Overnight. However, BCIS's Case Status page said only today that they received it on yesterday.

My question is:

1. Did my para-legal lie about the date she sent the document?

or

2. Does it take a while for BCIS to "receive" documents such as this to go through their beaurocratic chain?

Regardless, I would be interested in finding out the time that takes between the time that you sent the document and the date that BCIS says that they received.

there is no telling how long it takes

for BCIS to "receive" RFE responses. For all you know, it could have been on someone's desk all this while. Its not uncommon for BCIS to sit on something for ever before acting on it.

I would not say for sure that your lawyer didnt send it, but might have been a good idea to ask for the tracking number or something. Not that it matters now, anyway.

BCIS says it has it now. So hope your approval comes through soon...
