My lawyer has received RFE for my wife’s case. I don’t have a copy of RFE yet but according to my lawyer, this is the wording on the RFE.
“The applicant is required to have an amended medical examination in conjuction with this application. Submit an amended Form I-693 Medical Examination report obtained from an INS authorized civil surgeon. Your Local Immigration Office can provide you with a list of authorized medical doctors. Your Form I-693 with a supplement for immunizations or a waiver must be returned to us. Please do not open the sealed envelope given you by your doctor.”
My wife underwent the medical exam at the time of applying and all the results were fine except that she did not take MMR as she was pregnant. Now, she had taken MMR and we have the immunization record for that.
1. Does the RFE mean that she has to redo the medical exam completely ? RFE says “….amended medical examination….” What does this mean ?
2. Has anyone been in a similar situation ? If so, could you please share your experience ?
3. Any suggestions on how to convince the doctor that all we need is to have the I-693 filled out with original test results and update the current MMR info. If possible, we want to avoid undergoing all those tests again ..
4. Could someone pls. post the weblink regarding the validity of the medical exam results until the I-485 application is adjudicated.
Any other suggestions regarding this issue would be greatly
appreciated..
Thanks,
