RFE RCVD. Need to Travel...

Hi Folks,

My Advanced Parole is expiring on the 27th of June, and I need to travel for about 3 weeks starting from the 25th of June. I had applied for an AP renewal over a month back but have not received anything yet. In fact, my lawyer says that AP etc., are very low priority for the INS and hence we cannot definitively say that the AP would be received on time.

My questions are:

a) Can I go to the Newark (NJ) INS office personally, and get an AP the same day ? I heard that unlike some other offices, Newark is a little tricky.

b) If I go to the Newark INS office, do I have to carry the original receipt of my I485 (currently with my lawyer in CA) or will a copy (available with me) suffice ?

The RFE was for both sides of the latest I-94 and also the place where the latest visa was stamped on the passport. Since I just came back from a business trip, my latest I-94 was just 10 days old and I had travelled on my AP (the Visa on my passport is way out-dated).

This was kind of un-usual since I was expecting something like a letter from the employer or pay-stubs.

You donot need AP if U have Ur valid multi entry H1/H4 stamped in your passports. All U all need are the original I485 receipts to get back.

I got an approved H1 but it has not been stamped in my passport. Moreover, I already travelled once on my Advanced Parole (without a visa stamped in my passport). So I believe the only recourse would be to get an AP right away.
