RFE question

I am a Dec, 2001 applicant and still waiting for RFE/2nd FP. As RFE is common these I wanted to prepare the required documents for a quick reply to my future RFE.

What documents should I send if USCIS asked me to send last 3 years tax information?

Options:
1. I got copies of tax (1040 and state forms) forms from my tax consultant when I electronically filed my taxes in the last 3 years.
2. Contact IRS to get transcripts for last 3 years.
3. Contact IRS to get copies of our tax records (usually they charge $30 or something for these records)

Which option did you guys choose for replying your RFE?

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.

PS: Sorry if this question was already discussed on this board, I will be thankful if you through some light on this.

W2 only

Hi,
Normally they will ask for for Employment Verification Letter and Last 3 years W2.

Just make a copy of the W2's you have and send them.

It basically depends on what they ask.

Thanks

Thanks a bunch for your reply.

I am preparing my last 3 w2 forms. It seems that some times CIS is asking for

3 years tax returns (including W-2)

Guys,

What documents (type) did you send for this kind of RFE?

Thanks

Common guys, many people responded to their RFE’s. Can’t you help me by posting your experience? What kind of documents did you send?

I got the copies of my federal return from the IRS in anticipation of an RFE. I also have the copies originals that I filed with IRS for each year.

Do we need to send both the federal and state tax return copies or just the
Federal? I filed in CSC but have filed NJ tax all along. My company was in CA and I switched a year back using AC21 and work for a NJ company now.

Any inputs highly appreciated. An RFE has been generated on my case today.

Check the RFE thread, where people post their RFE's. It has all the information you need.

brokenarrow,

The rule of thumb is that you send what is asked for, nothing more, nothing less. You don't want them to start a new line of thinking. If they ask for 1040's then you send them 1040's and not 540's.

Also, there is no need to get the 1040 from IRS, if you have copies of your original filing you can send those in as well. INS can always verify them with IRS if they have any doubts.

Congratulations on your case being touched. Good luck with the RFE.

Thanks 140_takes_forever for the 1040 clarification

I got the tax transcripts for free from IRS just in case they ask for IRS stamped tax returns or something like that. It took 3 weeks. I wanted to be prepared.
