RFE question Urgent

One of my friend recently got an RFE for asking for employer letter, W2 and tax returns fo 1 year and last 3 months of earnings statements. He was laid off in Aug. and got new employement in Oct. So he has paystubs for Oct, Nov and not for Sept. Some people sugested sending consolidated YTD earnings instead of the paystubs. Question is how important is the last paystub. Is it worth waiting till Jan till he gets all 3 months or is it OK to send YTD earnings. Do you guys know of any similar cases and what was their outcome?
 
I would suggest

asking ur friend to wait till Jan to get the 3 months pay statements. Why unnecessarily raise a red flag?

Could you please post your friends detalis like the EAC No. RD, ND etc. and also when did he receive the RFE. This info. could help many on this forum.
