RFE question - please reply

All,

I got an RFE for an employment letter + a few documents.
My employer first gave me a letter stating my initial salary
(of five years back). Then my attorney gave them another format.
In this one the initial start date of my employment is misstated
as Sep instead of Apr(ie five months later). Has anyone had such
experiences ? Does it matter and will it cause further RFEs (delay)
or even trouble (e.g. they may say I was out of status for 5 months
which I was not - means delay + cost).

Thanks a lot for your replies

The employment must match with what you said in the I-485 documents when you filed. Salary may be increased, does not matter. If there is a legal difference between your H1B (approved by INS) and your I-485 date, then you have problem, which can be sorted out, though some formal procedures you need face. After verifying your dates, H1B approval date, I-485 dates you have provided, consult your lawyer if there is any difference. There may be reasons behind why your company and lawyer gives different dates.
