RFE Question about job title

When I applied for LC I used "Engineering Programmer"
as my title. When labor department approved my application
they assigned me a new title "software engineer". My lawyer
explained that is because they can not find the "engineering
programmer" in their book so they use equivalent title. Now I
received a RFE for employer letter and pay stubs. My question
is what title should this letter mention ? Original one or the one
they assigned me. My boss is willing to put either of them.
Thanks

Since your employers agrees to put any name, its better to put "software engineer". If you choose the name in LC they may be 2 possibilities of doubt to the adjuster. 1. The name is not matching
against the approved labor document, 2. The name is not in there list.

I would go with Software Engineer - the reason it is here in the first place is because INS is more comfortable with it relative to the other. Now wouldn\'t you rather go with something that INS is more comfortable with ?

But what if anything happens ? By putting my original
title I can at least blame them ?

Put Software Engineer. Change in title indicates change in job responsibility, type etc. Also, A change in title indicates that you are currently not working in the field your labor was approved for!Since your LC is approved for SE, go with this title.

i don\'t think it realy matter since titles change all the time, like promotion and switch from level to another, you may start as programmer then you become analyst programmer then system analyst

My lawyer did not think what you guys think.
So I guess I got a big decision to make.
