RFE - Please Help

I Came to US in October 1998, but my actual project started in Dec1998 and start getting pay stubs. Assuming that as my hire date I mentioned Dec1st 1998 as date of hire in myI485 application.

Now the RFE is for Employer letter (Date of hire, Salary, Future prospects Etc.) I am still with original employer.

What should I mention as my date of hire? Port of entry date or
Pay stub beginning date.

I would really appreciate your help and advice.

Mention what was mentioned in your labor and 485 application papers. Remember be consistent. They will not ask you for your paystubs going back to 1998.
 
RD1026_BIL,

INS generated a reference for additional evidence on my case on 24th Jan. I am still waiting for the notice. I have the same RD as you (26th Oct '01).

Could you tell me when was the reference generated for you.
