RFE on working auth. for spouse pls. help

Hello friends my husband got an RFE on his I485. USCIS has asked for proof of employement auhtorization from the period of Oct 2004-March 2005. He didn't have any authorization for 3.5 months out of this period but he didn't even work in those days. He was on AOS so was not out of status. Now how do we prove this that he was just staying home and not working.
 
Who is the primary beneficiary? Give an affidavit saying that he didn't work. Also give W2/1099 tax return for that period to prove no income during that period.

I am the primary and he is the benificary. Affidavit is fine we can make one, but we checked the w2 and tax returns. They dont' have any time periods on it. Only thing that we can think of is that his last pay stub year to date income and the income on the w2 matches and his last pay stub is before the starting of the period when he didn't have EAD. Will that be sufficient. Is there any other way to prove this thing.
 
In absense of any other documents, affidavit is the way people get around. Yes, W2s, tax return and all pay-stub for that year in question will prove that there was no other employment other than the one stated. Doesn't look like a difficult thing to prove.
 
Match the year to date salary on the paystub with the W2 form. Also submit IT return for that year to show income on IT return matches with W2 income. The point is, you have to explain everything in detail in writing to INS. If you give them a bunch of papers, they aren't going to look through everything and understand by themselves. You have to explain and make them understand.
