Hi friends,

The RFE letter asking for birth cert says once I reply it and the VSC receives it they will take a maximum of 60 days. It is already 70 days now. MY priority date is current though. What should I do now?

Any one in the same boat???????????//

I suggest

1, Dont waste time ... make another copy of whatever you already sent to USCIS and send it with return reciept. Remember its your application, sending the documents agin wont hurt.

2, Call VSC, talk to an officer and make sure USCIS received that letter. I am sure you sent your response via registered mail, tell the officer that you have the receipt. Ask him if the records are updated.

Cheekoo and all,

Actually the online message says they have received the response to RFE on March 25 th 2006. However still no response. Can any one help on what to do.

Same crap here. They got our RFE, and did an online update.
Then another online update. Guess we just have to wait.

The online message is clear thought, that it will not take as long
as previously stated in the original RFE. Reading between the lines
and waching the EAD approval timelines, it looks like the processing
is delayed the number of days it took to get the stuff back in their hands.

Hope that helps.

Case Approved and Waiting for my wife's approval

My case was approved but haven't received my spouse's approval. There were couple LUDs on her I485 application but no content updates. Called INS today and they have told me that they have asked for additional information.

Anybody has gone through this situation and any guess, on what could the RFE be ?

Hi Dev,
I'm also in a similar situation. My case has been approved but spouse has not. I had no LUDs but got approval on Jun 20. But spouse had LUDs in May but no approval till date. Can you please share the information on how to contact USCIS? Thanks in advance.

Number sequence to reach INS

1-800-375-5283

Key sequences =>

1 , 2 , 6, 1 , ur EAC number and wait for the status information which is normally the same as on the web site, then 3 and 4 should take you to the INS office in Vermont.

Thanks Dev. My PD and RD is Aug, 05. Can I call or should I just wait for some time.

Actually what you can do is schedule an appointment through InfoPass to talk to an Immigration Officer and find out the true status. My experience has been that the immigration officers can lookup and tell you information that USCIS officers don't have access to. Here's my experience:

I filed for my Advanced Parole application on Sep 30, 2005 and I got my receipt notice but since then no communication from USCIS on it. I have called several times and they always told me that it's in process, I have even called for a change of address. Finally in May 2006 I got an Infopass appointment and spoke with an immigration officer. The officer told me that my case was closed on Oct 7, 2005, barely 8 days after filing!!! I don't know why it was closed and there was no letter from USCIS on it, but you would think the USCIS person providing me information on my case would have been able to tell me that. I called at least 5 times and they never told me my case was closed.

Hi all,

When do they ask for second finger print and second medicals.

Also what about name check and how do I know whether they have done for me or not. Also My EAD expires in August and I have not applied for renewal thinking that I can get I-485 approval since I replied for RFE 80 days ago and my priority date is current. Please advise.

They are saying I can not call more than once a month. I called for the first time after 60 days of they reeiving the response of RFE and they say it is still in processing. I am worried because on july 25th it would hit 15 months period for second finger printing.

Its NOT good to call them often, each of your call is logged with them and they type in what ever the conversation happens. My lawyer also suggested me not to call too many times. Cause the process is so slow, it will not make any difference if you keep asking " are we there yet ?" .. ;)

Secondly, please do not worry about finger printing, its USCIS to worry. The finger printing letters are issued by the system, or if your file is under a review que, the officer may generate that letter. Both type of letter are different in wordings. It should not bother youbecause whenever USCIS needs your fingerprinting, they will issue the letter.

Hope this will help you.

Can Any one tell what to do next on this.

What are the ways to know whether security/name check has been done or not?

Thanks.

advise please

No , My I-485 was never denied and I have replied to RFE 3 months back and they received it as per the online status. But they have not made any decision so far. Thanks.
