2) got RFE for 140, reponded
3) later Laid off from the company in OCT 2001.
4) Joined Consulting company from Nov 2001
5) Approved 140 in March 2002
6) Filed for 485 in April 2002
7) Went to India for vacation, didn't stamped my passport with new employers H1 transfer, because my attorney suggested not to.
8) Filed for EAD got Photo RFE on EAD, responded on OCT 15, but AVM says that INS recvd on NOV 4th
9) Now my contract with client is expiring

Q1) Should I wait for EAD and look for another company and then join on EAD
Q2) Should I stamp on my passport with current employers H1 papers, my current I-94 & H1 validation is valid till Feb 2003.
Q3) Should I leave GC processing as it is and look company who will be willing to sponser H1

You should do all.
Get your H1 transferred with your existing papers, if possible.
Get you EAD
Get another employer.

Alhough, getting H1 and an employer who will be willing to sponsor at this economy may be tough,, but definately get your EAD, you will need that to work, and you need to work to answer any future RFE....

Good luck

can you elaborate pl.

Q1) Should I wait for EAD and look for another company and then join on EAD

***Since I am loosing job for sure, can I join on EAD once it gets approved, how much time it takes after RFE has been responded on Nov 5th as per AVM?

Q2) Should I stamp on my passport with current employers H1 papers, my current I-94 & H1 validation is valid till Feb 2003.

***there is some 60 day limit, when sending papers to washington DC for stamping i guess, is it true?

What is the procedure to get interim EAD, what all doc. is needed, where to go to get one, i heard they stopped issuing interim EAD, ANY IDEA?
