RFE letter got lost in mail. Case abondoned. What should I do now?

I'm US citizen and applied GC for my Dad. The case was pending for a long time. We went to Infopass today and was notified that USCIS sent RFE to us back in January which we never received!

So I called the 1-800 number and got transfered to CSC where my Dad's case is being processed. The officer said since they didn't get response from us, the case was considered abondoned! He'll try to retrieve it back but no guanrantee.

Abondoned?! That's very scary. After all these long waiting ... What do I do now? Do I have to start all over again?

I'd really appreciate if you could offer your advice on this.

Call your senator and congressman.
 
Has anyone tried to call your senator and congressman? Could you please share some details? For example, how to find their phone numbers, when to call and how I should describe my problem. I assume that they will get lots of calls like this. How can I make sure my case get his/her attention?
