I have B.Tech (4 years) and M.Tech (3 semesters). I received an RFE in I-140 asking evidence that M.Tech. was a two year degree program. I-140 was filed under EB2 category. I read the official document on "advanced degree requirements" and it states that master should be equivalent of US masters but there is no specification of two year requirement. Is it some new thing that master has to be two year duration to qualify under EB2 category?

There are so many US master programs one can complete in 3 semesters. You may need a good evaluation alongwith proof that US master programs can also be completed in 3 semesters.

Which service center you applied I-140 ?

Most Indian Masters in Engineering / Technology are three semesters and non-technical M.Sc are two years, For ME / M.Tech you don't have to worry but person doing education evaluation should mention that this ME/MTech is equivalent to a TWO Years program of Study in XYZ Engineering and transferable to a university in US.

It was sent to Nebraska Service Center. I searched many forums and news groups but did not find any case similar to mine.
