RFE from VSC on NIW

I got a RFE last week for my NIW which was submitted in June 30, 05.
The RFE was 3 page long, but it was just about the 3rd prong. I don't know why they have to write that much. Making me even more confused.
Anyway when I submitted my initial petition, I did not send any of independent letters. I sent 6 letters which were all from my previous or current mentors.
All from the US Major Univ. 3 from PA state, 3 from NY state.
Anyway after I got this RFE, I searched medline to see tho whom I can send an email asking for the independent letter. Suprisingly, I got 3 positive responses out of 11 emails that i sent out here and there.
1 from the largest non-profit organization in my research area.
2 from the best school for my research area as well.

I am not sure if it will definitely help my case, but better than nothing !! Right?

One concern that I have right now is that 2 of these independent authors want to write a letter by themselves. They did not even ask for a draft even though i offered.
I am not sure if they are familiar with it. Hopefully they have done it before.

Anyway don't give up on getting a letter from a stranger. :)
 
sorry to hear about RFE!in a way its good that they are writing letters...it will be real independent.what you can suggest them is "content" ...i mean tell them clearly what shd be the theme of letters!
 
Several of my recommendations wrote the letters on their own as they had been asked to do them many times before. It turned out to be good as they all sounded different and not scripted but said exactly what they needed to. They must have worked because it was approved. I would just make sure they are aware of the issue that has to be addressed (ie the dreaded third prong!).

Most refrees are well experienced

In my case 4 independent letters were written by themselves. It looked to be really independent and sound very good ( I got approved ) One of the refree told me he has written more than 50 letters so he knows what to write, sometimes better than an attorney. so rely on them.
since yours is an RFE, you better try to get more letters , I mean more than three independent letters.

How long did it take to get the actual message on the USCIS web after LUD changed in case of RFE? My LUD also changed.
