Folks,

Could you please clarify the following?

I have received an RFE from USCIS for my I-485 form asking to submit affidavits within 87 days from close relatives older than the applicants.

The only relative alive who is elder to the applicant has Alzheimers disease for the past two years.

Under the above circumstances please advise what needs to be done.

In general, you need to send 2 affidavits from relatives (preferable) or close family friends who are older than the applicant and have knowledge of birth.

Hello,

I have one more question regarding this.

The NABC procured by my relative is not on a government letter head.

Name of my grandmothers name is also not there in this document.Only my grandfathers name is mentioned.

Also the certificate is on plain paper with a seal of the registrar office.

In addition I have obtained affidavits from two of my mothers aunts. Kindly let me know if this information is sufficient.

Moreover the NABC submitted earlier is a copy of the original. Please confirm whether I should submit the original NABC.

By the way, RFE sent by them is not clear as to what do they require.

So please advise.

You do not need to submit originals with I485, only copies. The instructions say that. You are required to take all the originals to the interview.

It seems that your RFE was for affidavits and not NABC.

For NABC, it is good that there is seal of office. It would have been nice to have it on office letterhead and with names of both the parents of the applicant. In your case, you can wait and see whether USCIS is fine with your NABC or they ask for something more. In the meantime, if possible, you can try to obtain new NABC with these things just in case.
