Hey guys help me here! Not sure on how to react.
I have double check the receipt number and it is mine that they have retrived from their file.
The message online says:
"On August 8, 2003, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice. Please contact the service center where you submitted your application during business hours."

Lucky Guy,

because you got an RFE means your case has been touched.

Mine is WAC-02-197-5XXXX waiting for RFE or anything..... I know I am crazy to expect but BCIS is working that way.

Your RFE could be for EVL(Employment Verification Letter), last 3 pay stubs, 3 years W-2s.

Most of the people got this kind of RFE. Its merely an assumption. Could be for something else like Birth Certificate or who knows what it is.

Please update us when you receive the RFE.

I sent email to my lawyer( she respond very promptly always) that once the law firm receives the letter for RFEs to inform me right away the content of the letter so i can forward to them.I don't have the patience to wait for the courtesy copy.I guess the only way to combat this agony of waiting is to respond ASAP to whatever they are requesting.

Thank you for your encouragement.I guess when your papers are being process not in the usual order, you begin to become restless and just hope that the RFE they sent is just what they usually request;EVL, Birth certificate, paystubs or W-2.And should these RFEs are the aforemention documents, would they be accepting photocopies? please let me know so I can prepare copies of the original. Thanks a lot.

I have always sent photocopies of certificates/paystubs anything except the application. I do not know this is true with the RFE or not. May be its true. I think Vipsha or some senior members can answer this.

One of the most important rules of dealing with INS is:

Never send an original document unless INS specifically asks for it.

Generally, this is one of the reasons you hire a lawyer, so s/he would know what to send and when.

My lawyer fax me the RFE, BCIS requested last August 8 and it is only requesting employment verification letter from employer. We'll mail it tomorrow and I'll keep you posted on the results ASAP. I hope this is it guys.

You're lucky that bcis is asking you for more documents..it means your papers are not lost.

suwerte mo talaga.

Well, well, well.My lawyer told me that the RFE letter from BCIS has a fax number so she could forward it to the number they have provided to expedite the processing. Just the same she will send the RFE(EVL only) thru FEDEX.I'll Keep you posted!

Noginoypi,

Are you from India/China or any other country? I am trying to see if INS go by country while touching the cases.

You sure are lucky.

Several of us in 01 and 02 < 192 are still waiting - even for an RFE.

I am sure everything will work out just fine. Be positive. Please do let us know about the result.

Thanks.

Thank you all for the kind notes and I just hope in the coming days I will wake up with " This case had been approved on August ......2003 blah blah". I will keep you guys posted throughout the process as I do hope that soon it will be your turn.I, myself, cannot believe at this point that BCIS has started adjudicating our papers jumping sporadically from time to time. In my case(May '02) that is almost 6 months jump from the Nov '01 they are currently processing or are they ?
BTW, yajiv99, I'm from the Philippines !
