RFE for dependent - No news on Primary

My wife (dependent) has an RFE (medical) that we have responded to. In the meanwhile the AVR message for my own case number says "case could not be found".

Can a dependent be approved without primary being approved first ?

Does the INS treat the two cases separately ?

Please share your wisdom & experiences in this regard.

What I have heard from others is that when the message says" case can not be found" it means an officer is working on that case. So that\'s a good news of sorts.

Hi,

Could you please Post what was asked for your wife (medicals) RFE. Please provide the RFE information and what you did. I would be very thankful.

Regarding mine, I am the primary applicant and got approved first. Dependent application is still pending and received a RFE today. This is what it says,

"Your original Form I-693 and Supplemental Form I-693 are being returned to you at this time. You are required to return to the physician who performed your medical examination to obtain the missing infomration from the Form I-693 medical test results. After the I-693 has been completed and signed by your physician, you must return both forms to this Service."

My question, Should I take the a new I-693 to the doctor to be filled up and signed by the doctor or else is it OK to take the one returned by INS. If so, where should it be signed again. Any input would be appreciated.

thanks.

VSC/485, I am not quite sure that \'Case not found\' means the case is being worked on. I have got
that message for the last few months, and so recently I talked to an IIO. She checked another database
and found that my case \'was there\', even though the automated message said otherwise. Recently
subhjit(?) posted a message on possible explanations and they seem logical (something about the
automated message system goofing on the add/delete option ...).

Bottomline: I would call and talk to an IIO to make sure that INS can find the case on their
own (real) database. If they find it, it is OK, otherwise its could be a problem. Also, a few days
ago, my mesage changed from \'case not found\' to \'your application was received...\'.

Wife\'s I-693 & supplement was not sent with the original I-485. We sent it later. I think it never caught up with our files. The RFE said that they did not have the I693 & supplement on file and that I need to get one. I had the doctors office prepare a whole new set. As long as there is one complete set in the file, they should be happy.

In your case it might be important to identify the missing information first. I am sure you will be discussing it with the doctor\'s office also.

What I meant was, if it changes to "Case not found" from "Your I485..... ws recieved"

Hi VSC eb2,

Thanks very much for the info. They did mention in the RFE what was missing. It says

"THE FORM I-693, Medical examination of aliens seeking adjustment of status, which you submited does not indicate that the required serologic test for Syphilis were completed"

They returned both orginal form I-693 and supplemental Form I-693. I am not sure whether to take a new I-693 or just to take the one which is returned. The letter also says
"After the I-693 has been completed and signed by your physician, you must return both forms to this service in an unopened envelope."

The doctor can fill the incomplete information, but where should it be signed as form I-693 is already signed. Please share your experiences.

thanks.
