I've been dealing with RFE's for over a year. Here is the latest.

For my parents, I've sent an affidavit on a Rs.100 stamp paper written by an attorney that DOB is not registered in india when she was born. In addition to that I've sent her school leaving certificate with DOB issued by the state of travancore.

I get the generic RFE that I have not supplied the DOB proof.

Any ideas?

I presume you are filing for green card for your parents and their application will be processed at a US consulate in India.

For date of birth you need a letter from the local registrar of birth in the village where your parents were born. The letter should state that their birth record is not available. Along with this letter, two affidavits (preferably from close relatives in similar age group who are aware of their births) notarized by a notary public in India are also required. You cannot write this affidavit.

As a secondry evidence you can provide copy of SSLC book.
