Recvd RFE for self and wife with following info.
Self:
I140 Redo due to company name change.
Wife:
They say her Birth Certificate does not show her Name. This is strange. I checked the birth certificate and the name is right there.
Also, we submitted marriage certificate which we obtained from Indian consulate since it is clear and readable. Our original marriage certificate is in Hindi. Now they need the marriage certificate which was issued by the registrar. Looks like I have to get it translated from some translation service. Any ideas, if there are any authorised translator services which do such work?

I140 Redo due to company name change.

Is it the just company name change, Does it also involves the TAX-id change, Please do post the details.

Regarding the marriage certificate, I don’t think u can get any translators, According to my knowledge
U can always get an affidavit of support from your parents, I think lawyer might tell u what exactly do u need to do for this kind of RFE.

I140 redo is due to company name change while Tax ID is same. This is being handled by my employer as he has experience of such cases.

Can please give more details,

Why I am asking is , According to my lawyer , he says if it is a just company name change we don’t have to amend the I-140. If it is a name change with Tax-id and some merger or some management change we need to redo the I-140.

Your experience might help me out to talk to my lawyer again.

Did INS asked for redo of I-140 or u your self when and did it.

So please do post the details.

As far as I know you have to redo I140 if INS asks for it. At least that is the case with Vermont INS. My employer\'s tax id did not change however name changed after my original 140 was approved and before I applied for 485. INS has now asked for ammended I 140 and my employer
(who is Rapidigm) is going to file it.
I am not sure what other details you are looking for so, please list all your questions and if I know the answers, I\'ll post them. Also, search for Govinda Vinod\'s postings on this board as he has posted very useful information pertaining to this matter.

I am not from Rapidigm.

According to my lawyer , he is not ready to amend the I-140 with out RFE , he says ours is not the case like of corporate mergers , acquisitions & Tax ID, it is just the name change so u don’t have to worry . I filedmy I-485 in aug-00 after that he just changed name of the company from abc to xyz , no management change no address change or any thing .every thing is same except the name .

So My lawyer is not ready to amend the I-140. Any suggestion please do post.
