RFE... depressed.--( caught between WTC and ANTHRAX

Here is the situation.
received RFE: for job letter and paystubs for the last two months.
details.
receipt notice. Nov.2000
notice date Dec.2000

Got laid off from work in Nov 2000
worked on W2 from Feb to October. 2001
laid off.. in october 2001
received RFE asking for the job letter and paystubs for the last two months
seems like caught between WTC and anthrax.
Any creative ideas????

will old employer give a letter?

The simplest & first question to come to mind is whether your employer will agree to give you a letter backdated to just before the layoff. If yes, case closed. Otherwise, i\'m at a loss to think of another alternative to getting another job right away (I know you are doing just that, so doesn\'t need saying)

Do not panic.
Enclose what all you have, and write a letter to INS, explaining the situation. I think you should be fine. I believe I read some time back here, someone wrote them a letter explaining everything, they approved his case.
 
try to contact previous employer or another small company for letter

You can say you are on vacation since lay off time.
(or)
Get another employment with a small company who can provide employment letter.
