My RD is 03023XXX, just received RFE asking for tax forms including W2. My question is that what tax forms are needed, is 1040 alone sufficient or one need to submit state tax return as well?

Thanks!

I responded to a similar RFE

I submitted 1040s for the last 3 years with the respective W2s and W2 for the current year (2003) for which I haven't filed returns yet ..

I got approved in 2 days after the RFE was received by INS/BCIS .

Good luck ,

What about the signatures? My were printed out from Turbo Tax so the copies do not have the orginial signature on it.

This may be a stupid question. Your answers would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!:)

I submitted W2 and copies of my Federal returns for 2002, 2003 as they asked for 2 years only. My attorney advised me not to include state taxes. Why submit the docs which are not asked for.

I think Form 1040

I also got RFE for W2 and Tax return for most recent last three years. I am planning to send both state and federal. For my case state's 2002 is related to federal 2003. If we use itemized deduction, then we need to include both.

It is better to include both. ghost-rider's argument about the reason behind the RFE is very sound, but since they ask for "tax returns" and are ambigious about Federal or State, it is better to send both.

RFE

These are requested for me :
1. A copy of your Form W-2 for the last three years (2003, 2002 and 2001);

2. A copy of your three most recent paycheck stubs;

3. A copy of your Federal Tax Returns (signed by you and your spouse, if filed jointly) with all accompanying schedules for 2001, 2002 and 2003; and

4. A new Form I-693 (Medical Examination with Immunization Supplement) completed and signed by an authorized physician. The medical examination results on file apparently indicate that you have not met the appropriate immunizations requirements.

I asked my lawyer about the signatures and the answer is that they will stamp "COPY" on the paper so I don't need to sign. After reading bhoodo's post, I think I need to confirm with the lawyer again. :confused:
