RFE and namecheck

Today I got an e-mail from USCIS saying that they have mailed an RFE on July 23rd. I dont know what it is about. But I was wondering if getting an RFE means that they have finished your namecheck? Or not?

Dear Santosh

I have never heard of that but if your name check was completed it would normally say this

I am responding to your e-mail dated xx/xx/xxxx, requesting status for an FBI Name Check.

A review of the FBI's Name Check Program database concerning your name check revealed a request was received from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on xxxxxxxx and it was completed on xxxxxxx. The results were forwarded to the USCIS Headquarters in Washington DC.

So I have no clue what that is saying you may want to post the whole letter, and another thing is if you need information on name check and if you want to meet 100 of people’s in the same situation as you, click here good luck and hope you hear good news soon.

I got the following response form USCIS. It is basically an RFE.

information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material
is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14
days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National
Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status
results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from
USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National
Customer Service Center.

I got RFE in June, 05 for my I-485. I had the same impression that my NAME CHECK must have been cleared. It turned out that it is not the case. According to USCIS email response, my Name check is pending.

I may be wrong, but ability to pay should be 140 rfe and not 485. 485 is your personal info (experience, birth date certificate etc)

Hello there
First of all, I apologize I don’t know why I thought this letter came from the FBI, so it actually came from the USCIS, which only means that the USCIS need additional information’s on your case, this have nothing to do with the security check. And this definitely is not telling you that your name is cleared, If you need the status of your name check, send an email to the FBI, but they will not reply until another 6 month or so, this name check is a pain, it’s been causing every body so much grief. Good luck with your case, hope you hear good news soon.
