RFE and name check

Hi guys!

I filled an I-485 a year ago, FP 4 months ago and nothing since then. Also, I am waiting for almost sure RFE, since one document was not attached in the proper time.

My question is - NC initiated right after FP, and RFE will mean NC is completed, OR

RFE will mean they are going just to initiate NC?

Or it can be either way?

Any ideas are wellcome.

Thanks!

And also - does it make sense to send the missing document now not waiting for RFE, or (as I read in an article) it has a low-to-nothing chance of ending up with my case?

NC is initiated soon after filing I-485, nothing to do with RFE.
They send RFE when they open your file and find that something is missing, better wait for them to isse RFE.

I filled my 485 on June 10th and NC was done on June 28th. This was on 2004.

Is there a way to know if NC is complete? I understand if I got "NC pending" response on enquiry and later it disappeared - ok, NC is complete. If after a year of I-485 pending and 4 months after FP I get "under review, expect something in 60 days" response - I can still get stuck in NC or not anymore? Can I get a specific inquiry about NC status or it is not worth it?

So, a NC can be pending and they can still work on the file?

Thanks!

It seems so.
In my case, they first sent me FP notice, then transferred my file to a local office, then called me for interview, then requested correction of medicals... then, sent me another FP notice... and all the time my NC was pending.

What do you mean by "later it disappeared - ok, NC is complete." How do you know "later it disappeared"? Unless the Service Center can confirm that in a WRITEN LETTER, you are just making a guess on your NC, aren't you?

Damn :( . Waiting kills me. And no information. And these "criptic replies" which mean nothing.

I meant, "later it disappeared" - the message on inquiry (written letter) changes. But I guess, according to people, it does mean anything, unless they say directly "NC cleared".
