RFE and 60 days waiting-question**Update**

Hello!

I've a question re-RFE.

I've sent RFE to uscis and case resumed on Oct, 5th. It says within 60 days of Oct 5th, I would receive a decision or something else (ie-request for more rfe???-gah).

Can anyone here please tell me if you have such scenario, did you really hear anything or more importantly was there really a decision made within that time period?

My timeline-

I-485 recevied- Oct 22, 2004
Interview- Feb 15, 2005
Name check pending since then
RFE recevied and case resumed- Oct, 5 2007
60 days waiting

My RFE was not just one doc or two, basically it was another interview imo from long distance. My case is now in California Svc Center. My interview took place in NYC. And six months later they transferred it to Cali. They basically asked for all docs they ask while going to an interview including updated affida. of support. Also, they asked for a recent pic of myself and hubby holding a recent newspaper!

Thanks!!:)

Well, I just wanted to post an update...

It's been 60 days and I've not heard anything from USCIS. My case is in Cali Svc Cent.

Anyway, I called today and I don't know what I was doing but my call ended up going directly to Cali Svcs Center. So, the lady told me -evertyhing is ready to go with my file (I guess meaning it's ready to be approved??!!) but since they didn't get the name check cleared from FBI, they can't approve yet.

And then she told me to go to congressman's ofice and complain so that congressman's office put pressure on it (?) and then it will be cleared soon.

I was just surprised that someone from USCIS told me to go to congressman's office.

I'm sure they get many frustrated callers stuck in name check, that's probably why they tell you to contact your congressperson. The FBI is part of a different department of the US government (DOJ as opposed to DHS) so there's not much the USCIS can do. Funny thing is, the former INS was part of DOJ.
