Revalidation in Chennai

Hi,

I lost my passport in mail (USPS) when sent for revalidation to Washington DoS. This happened in Feb. I applied for duplicate PP and got short validity PP (valid for one year) because it takes more time for verification.

Now, I'm going to India for my marriage and need to get stamping in chennai consulate. will there be any problem in getting revalidation there? I have all my papers, W2, payslips etc.

Will this affect getting H4 for spouse? do we need to appear together?

My original passport was issued in Chennai.. is it possible to get my short validity passport renewed there before I go for stamping?

get ur new passport in india as soon as u can, usually in this case u shud get it in a week, and then apply for ur reval, u shudnt have any problems, neither will ur wife, please do be careful about takin all ur docs though
