Returning US with Old H1 visa!!!

Hi,
I have a question regarding "H" visa. My existing visa stamped in the passport is valid till Oct 1st 2003. My extension has been approved and I have a I-797 approval notice valid till Nov 2005. I am planning on a short visit to India in Aug end 2003 and be back by Sep 2003 first week - the time won't be sufficient for getting the new visa stamped...

My question is when I return to US.. the visa on the passport will be valid only for 3 weeks. Can I still enter into US with my old visa and showing the latest I-797 approval notice at the Port of Entry, which is valid till Nov 2005? Will there be any issues at the Port of Entry. Please advice.

Yes you can and there will be no issues (I did that 3-4 times).
