Returning to US with H1B stamp from Previous employment - Is it allowed at POE?

I am currently in US on H1B along with my family who are on H4. The current H1B and H4 visa stampings are from Company A (my previous employer). The visa stamps in passports expire on September 30th 2027.

Recently I have joined company B and got my H1B + H4s transferred via change of status within US in Sep 2025. The new I-94 in the newly approved I-797A validity is till September 30th 2028. However, visas have not yet been stamped on our passports for the new employment.

Given the above context, is it ok for me and my family to travel to India in December 2025 and return to US with the old visa stamping? I’ll be carrying the old I-797B and also the new I-797A approval documents. Planned return date is Jan 15th 2026.
 
Yes, you can re-enter the U.S. with your old visa stamp as long as it’s still valid, but make sure to carry your new I-797A approval notice for Company B since your employment has changed, CBP will update your I-94 accordingly.
