I am a Canadian PR, and will be coming to Canada after a few months of absence.
Will I have any problem at the port of Entry.
I heard that new law will allow me to stay out of Canada for more than 183 days.

Please help

Thanks

I do not see any Problem in your case

Still the old law applies to maintain your PR status, If you are coming to Canada staying NOT more than 183 days, You do not have any problems at port of entry, New law will apply you to stay out of Canada fore more than 183 days but only after june 28, 2002(proposed) if the new regulations becomes effective and it may have some restrictions as the first round of regulation is published for public comments and second round of regulation will be published in FEb/March 2002 then the Final regulations and the date will be announced when new regulations will be effective.

No Title

I am in the same situation. I frequently visited the US, lived in both countries. Don\'t have much proof that I did or did not live in Canada the last year, as I gave up my job search in Canada and started studying for a professional exam. Now I am totally lost. Someone told me that recently another person tried going bank to Canada from the US and he could not prove that he lived in Canada permanently. He was let in and then asked to live the country in two weeks. Any comments? Thanks

It is difficult to get the correct info here

I am a Canadian PR since july 2000. Before coming to Canada I applied for USA GC and recently I got the approval. I was working for a US company which has a project in toronto. But was laid off last week because the project ended. I see very little hope in the IT Job market here. the US company has given signals that they can give me a job but only if I move back to US. Which mean I have to get my green card. Can I hold canadian Pr and US GC at the same time.
Also I dont want to jeopardize my Canadian PR as I am sponsoring my Mom and brother for their PR.
