I am currently in Canada as a PR, but I also have US green card. I lived in the US for 8 years until couple of months ago(less than 6 ). I got Canadian PR wile my I485 was still pending. I would like to return now to US for good. I recently traveled to US and on my return to Canada at the airport I got a stamp from Canada Custom reading P.I.A/A.I.P. That is the first stamp I got. I presented them with my Canadian PR card.

Will I have a problem on my returning to the USA now? I have had an immigration visa for Canada but nobody paid attention (I have many visas in my passport) so far. Thank you in advance.

You should not have any problem. Even if you do, then you can always come back to Canada. But more you remain in Canada, higher are the chances of losing your green card. In short, you got to run to the US before you complete your 6 months in Canada.

Thank you very much for your reply. I actually do not have any trace when I left US since I came to Canada by car. This time is evident that I entered Canada. Do you know what PIA on the stamp means, something like Permanent imigrant admission? Thank you in advance.

You must have landed in Toronto.

PIA means Pearson International Airport. (AIP is its french translation - Aeroport Internationale Pearson).
