I am posting this thread because many people will be travelling soon.
I went to india and came back last week. I went through amsterdam. While going Boston, security check was simple and could not lock the bag.While coming back, there were three times security check in mumbai. In Amsterdam, they checked passport and visa status. It was simple. In Boston, immigration check was very quick. only 1 minutes. Officer only asked what is your profession and where you work. Customs people was asking whether we brought any indian food/spieces and also asked to open one bag which had smell stainless steel vessel.Otherwise, it was very smooth journey. BTW, I did not tell/show them my EAD/485. I had H1-M visa. I used that in Mumbai/amsterdam/Boston. Those who did not book ticket, you can go via amsterdam. It should be smooth. Only, in amsterdam while going to india, they may ask to open gold ornament. If you do not open, they will not insist. Hope this information may help someone.
