Days, weeks and now almost a year has passed without any real action.Even With all the effort immigration voice folks are doing, I think its time to face the reality for people who are on H1 , with their educated H4 Spouses just sitting at home and wasting their porductive years because of all this stupidity. Its going to take a long time to get all this resolved, for people who have applied labor in the last 1 year we are looking at close to 3-5 years.Any comments?

Only way (in Ur situation) for spouse to work is thru another H1b... My wife got one -- but she had to pay the attorney fees etc. and that extra cash for the premier processing .. but the approval was quick though.

Besides you are wasting your time, the situation leaves you NO CHOICE. That's the painful part.

I think we have a tendency to think to ourselves "no, the government or USCIS will come up with a solution and get us out of this mess in few more months".

Then looking into the family based queues, I see that USCIS is capable of anything when it comes to the immigration arena. I guess that at certain point, certain categories of family based greencard applicants also had to deal with the long-term reality that the whole I-485 process was coming at snail speed.
