for pinoy69, saras76 and will_get_there or anybody who knows about this issue

For those applicants who have been issued an RFE on 485, does that mean a VISA Number is already made available for them. And there application would be adjucated when ever USCIS receives an adequate response on the RFE. I other words, their application would not suffer the retrogression.

I got a LUD on my I-485 on Jan 11.
I think pinoy69 also got a LUD on Jan13 for his I-485.

Our case is similar, but I really do not know if the latest change has anything to do with the approvals or retrogression.

GcAlabama,
Yes, our case is similar and just like you I am wondering how USCIS will handle it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yup... wait is the only way to find out what will happen. I am sure if USCIS will process the RFE cause RFE has a time value like - EVL or medical records but will they process 485 further than that, not sure ? When last time around we had PDs in use for 485 adjudication (before year 2000), CSC was the only center that used to process the 485 till approval and even send the approval notices for PD retrogressed applicants, just that they were not able to get a passport stamping done till their dates were current.

Generating a RFE may not mean that visa number is allotted cause case can be denied after the RFE so logically visa number should be released only when all parts of 485 have been processed.

Are you sure CSC was approving 485 even if it is not current?
I read totally diff in this forum.
thanks
