Friends,
Saw this news flash on murthy.com about retrogression likely to affect EB1 and EB2 categories as early as the last quarter of FY 2005 (aug-oct.) I have a question:
What would be the scenario if I already have an IV interview date in july and the july bulletin (?released by the 10th june) indicates that EB1/2 classes have retrogressed?
Thanks!

I could be completley incorrect on this, but I think that if they've given you an interview date, they've already assigned you a visa number ... so it should be ok. Let's hope it doesn't come to that!

gs28,
What's EB4 Category and how does one qualify for it? I see that category being current and there is no indication that it may retrogress.

Hey Bapunagar:

EB4 is a very restricted category, mainly used by those who are religious workers -- such as priests, religious educators, etc. One has to be a member of a bonafide religious organization, and be working at least 2 year's full-time in what is recognized as a "religious occupation" or profession or ministry, to qualify.

The number of visas used by this category is really minuscule.

Chat User : Hello, Attorney Murthy. I have heard rumors that the priority dates for the EB2 category might retrogress sooner than later. Is this true?

Attorney Murthy : We expect that the priority dates (PDs) for EB2 for Indians may retrogress sometime towards the middle of FY2006, which starts October 1, 2005. We have written an article on this issue for Friday's MurthyBulletin (April 29, 2005), based on our discussions with Mr. Charles Oppenheim and his talk before an AILA CLE Panel on April 11, 2005. Even EB1 for India could retrogress sometime in FY2006 or by FY2007!
