Retro issue!

perhaps this tread will give me an answer.

so, right now my date is current by a month. this week the visa center will send us the documents for it and all. it could take 2-4 weeks. have a case number and all. immigration says i can send the i-485 right now.

now, the july bulletin retros back over a year. called them today and the operator said the usual things. when i told her about the bulletin she didn't know and not until july 1st will they know about it. she said that if anything changes, they will let us know.

so, is it possible that i can put in an i-485 and then have it denied or have the visa taken away? has anyone been in this situation? i know that people are not current and hope to be like really soon and then see the dates go back and they have to wait longer.

i am right in the middle. is it possible that i have to wait another two years or did i get like the last visa? and should i send in my i-485? and what happens if i send it in and the retro happens? will call immigration tomorrow and talk to a local lawyer about it. will let you know, but i am also hoping to gain experience from you guys.

had the aug or sept been the retro bulletin, i wouldn't be worried.

You are yet to file I485 am I right ? If ur dates are current then hurry up and file the friggin' 485. Don't worry about retrogression in July.

yes, wasted tons of time. the approval said to wait for nvc letter. that is why i haven't done it. anyway, working overtime in doing it. spoke to immigartion today about it. they said i can send it in. told them about retro and what would happen if it affects me. they said that they would put the petition on hold. and depending on the center, may be able to get work auth while that happens.

i went to a catholic charities. been there before and was planning on using them. one must get appointments and all. today i went to see if perhaps they woulld give me some help. they wouldn't talk to me due to the fact i didn't have an appointment. i was angry. i told them that i wasn't there to wish them happy b-day. that is possible that if i put in my petition today i can get it. wait too long and may have to wait years. they wouldn't have it. told me to get money and then make appointment in three weeks. they said they had rules and it wasn't fair for others and crap like that. and told me to call immigartion or something.

for a group that claims to help immigratnts that is a joke. any real lawyer would have given me an idea of what to do in five minutes. and i cannot imagine that other people would be crying for five minutes. i know i wouldn't. and the rules they have are too strict. you telling me that if i have to do this like in the next week they wouldn't be able to help me? anyway, have other options in any case.

will write angry letter to bishop. they should be like a dental office. you just need basic cleaning and have no appointment, they probably won't see you. you get into an accident and need emergency dental work, they see you. what if they were the only option and i need to do this in a matter of days? the appointment is in three weeks.

the service they provide isn't good anyway. they want you to do everything and they just look over it and then have you mail it.

Don't worry about retrogression in July.

Sorry i am not trying to check your patience. Looks like you are in lot of stress and confusion. I still do not understand your issue.
If you can give information about in what category you are in and what is your priority date and if you I_140 approved or not and you belong to which country quota etc...may be some one can help. Try to give information about YOUR case.
I don't think Priority dates are moved back for any category in July. If it is current Today it should be current for month of July. Please provde more information.

the bulletin came out.

okay, i-130 application. unmarried son of us citizen from colombia. it turns out i could have put in an application over a month ago when my petition was approved. the letter did say to wait for nvc to write me back. anyway, putting paperwork together and it will go out before july.

so right now is current and in july the retro kicks in. immigration says to put in right now and if anything, it could be place don hold and depending the center, may get work auth as that happens. the nvc is sending out the documents this week. so either i will make it rigth under the wire, get stuck in the middle, or be out of luck and wait for another year at least. most likely i am in and it will be fine.
