PETITION FOLLOWUP / CONTACT AILA LAWYERS

Fellows,

I suggested on another thread for all of us to start contacting our lawyers or the company's lawyer and asking them if they are
willing to push our case (Backlog of Employment based I-485s), through their professional associations whether it is AILA or AILF.
Please note that we as the applicants cannot contact AILA directly, so we have to go through this route.

I have done it and I will let you know..

I also encourage all to visit "ailf" and see what was done and what can be done about a possible lawsuit. One link about the "WRIT
in the NATURE OF MANDAMUS" is given below.

Fellows, this was the response from one of the lawyers. On the subject of AILA help/intervention there is some evasive answer.

Hello. I know we have no news but I would like to mention a couple of
things and see if there is any light at the end of the tunnel.

1: Our last discussion was about "Congressional intervention" and if you
remember my company was not so willing to participate. Do you personally
know of any actual cases and the outcome? Is this really something that
works or as I read somewhere it can even hurt your case by triggering a
transfer for example?

IN MY EXPERIENCE, CONGRESSIONAL INTERVENTION WORKS WHERE A CASE HAS FALLEN
THROUGH THE CRACKS. THE INTERVENTION FORCES THE BCIS LIAISON TO INQUIRE
WITHIN AND PROVIDE A STATUS. IF THE CASE WAS SITTING ON A SHELF, IT WOULD
THEN BE GIVEN TO AN OFFICER. HOWEVER, I HAVE NOT USED CONGRESSIONAL
INTERVENTION WHEN THE DELAY IS NORMAL, MEANING, WHEN THE DELAY IS ACROSS
THE BOARD.

2: VSC Expedite policy. Under VSC's expedite policy, there is a clause
about "request from a US Government entity". Could you explain or elaborate
if you do not mind? Note that anything my company does is under a US
Government contract pretty much. Do you know of any cases under this route?
This is no Congressional intervention but staight request from the lawyer
to VSC.
I KNOW OF NO CASES THAT HAVE USED THIS ROUTE AND I AM NOT AWARE IF IT IS A
POSSIBILITY. xxxx MAY KNOW MORE THAN I.

3: AILA, AILF: Are you member of either organisation? I have seen little
bits and pieces regarding the "800 phone number, request to President Bush
and Congress to get serious about the Backlogs" and others but no real
urgency on the part of either to acknowledge the Employment based backlogs.
Is there anything else going on? For example, would it possible to push
this through AILA, or just consider my case? Finally, do you know the
current president of AILA? Is she Palma Yanni? Her second name sounds xxxx
to me if I am not mistaken. I was just curious..

I AM A MEMBER OF AILA. IN THE SCOPE OF THINGS, I DON'T THINK AILA WILL
FIND YOUR CASE TO BE COMPELLING. PALMA YANNI'S ANCESTORS ARE FROM ITALY
AND IRELAND.
