Quick qestion for those who have been approved:

On the green card, what does the "resident since" date indicate ?

For me it is the date I got GC approved (i.e. June 2005). For my wife it is the date I filed labor (i.e. Jan 2003). Even though she filed as my dependent, why is she considered a resident since jan 2003, while I am a resident since June 2005 ?

And does it have any relevance to Citizenship ?

Your GC approval date should be the date on your GC. So, your wife's GC has wrong information. You should get it corrected.

Relevance to citizenship is that you should spend approx 5 years as a permanent resident before you can apply for citizenship.

It is a common mistake. For many people they have put the priority date on the card instead of the GC approval date. You need to apply for a corrected card. But first, update her status at the nearest Social Security office, so she can get a SS card without the employment restriction. That new card combined with her driver's license or state ID can be used to get or change jobs, without showing the GC (which she won't have while waiting for the replacement, which could take months). Also, renew her driver's license or state ID (if it expires soon) before sending back the erroneous green card to ask for a replacement.
