Hi All, I have gotton my GC few months back. I was wondering whats the Required duration one has to stay in the US for keeping the GC Alive..
means if I goto India and come back to US after 6 months and stay for another 2 weeks and return back to India will I be in trouble?...my question was how long one has to stay in US to go back again?

Please advice...
 
so no respite of abroad residency until Citizenship? Thx for ur comment, I heard back that u can come visit US for few weeks and return back Abroad.
What if I get a job in India...? Thanks for all ur comments.
 
Temporary visits abroad are ok, but accepting a job abraod without a firm date to return you will automatically abandon your green card. You cannot MAINTAIN green card by just occasionally visiting US, you have to live here permanently and file taxes as a US resident on of your worldwide income.

After you become US citizen, then you can live or work anywhere in the world as long as you keep filing taxes as a US resident.
