Residency Date from on GC Card is different from GC approval date

Hi,

First thank you very much for mumbers of this forum.

I got physical GC cards. My case was approved on Aug 30, 2007. But in the physical card they mentioned Resident from Data as: 07/02/2007. Card expiration date as: 08/30/2017.

I think resident from data should be 08/30/2007. I asked my AC-21 attorney, they said it is ok, they may be assigned number on July, 02 2007. But they completed the process on Aug 30 2007.

I called CSR they told me to apply I-90 the option D.

Not sure what to do now.

Did you anyone has similar situation?

Can any one share your thoughts or experience in this situation

if i am in your position, i would worry only if the resident date is older than my RD of 485 ! Just talk to your attorney.

Pretty much everyone who has got approved in the last 3 months has Resident since date as July 2nd 2007....since that was the day when visa numbers were allocated to appns...

I really wonder why you should worry at all about this. If at all you are planning for citizenship you have that 2 months extra to fill in the 5 years, which is already taken care by your GC date.

so relax and get over the GC momentum. Plan for things ahead of you.

Residence since date is the date on which your case was actually approved. USCIS is so efficient that they took so many days more to send the approval email to you. Don't worry. In my case the residence since date is 06/30/07 whereas the approval e-mail came only on 08/15/07. My Congressman's office called me on 06/21/07 to say that my case was approved on 06/20/07 but the lazy officer who approved the case never bothered to update USCIS computer systems resulting in the delay.
