Residence address

Hi,

My wife and I are applying for citizenship after a stay of 5 years in USA with our GC. I have the following question:

My wife does not drive and she has a California state ID with an address in the San Diego county. After that we moved along with our daughter's family to a new address in the same county. I got my driving license with the current address, but my wife's ID has the old address. Do we have to get a new ID issued for the purpose of the interview?

Thanks for any suggestions

At the start of an interview, it is usual for the IO to check your drivers license/state id for your official residence address in order to prove you reside in their district. I suppose you could prove residence in other ways (e.g. utility bills, etc), but it may just be easier to update the address shown on the id card.

We can not produce any utility bills as we are staying in our daughter's residence. We can produce our bank account statement which gives the current address. But as suggested, it would be better to get the address changed on the id before the interview.
