I want to file N-400 in the end of July. I spent 178 days in Japan for a vacation and came back to San Francisco as of June 22nd, 09. The naturalization rule says "you must have lived for at least three months within the state in which you are filing your application." I have lived in San Francisco more than 16 years and filed taxes. But, I did not keep my apartment while I traveled. I kept my bank accout and credit cards accounts with my friend's San Francisco address while I was away. Can I still file N-400 in July or I have to wait at least 3 months, i.e. until September?
