Research Guidelines

Before posting a question here, it might be a good idea to go through this checklist. People will be a lot more willing to help if you have done some good, thorough research and you still cannot find an answer to your question(s).

1. Have you consulted the USCIS website? (especially when looking for which
forms to file, fingerprinting procedures, medical exams etc.)
2. Have you read the instructions of ALL the forms carefully from top to
bottom?
3. Have you done a search on this forum, using keywords. Try several
combinations of words.
4. Have you done a search on a few other immigration forums e.g. Visajourney
Britishexpats etc. etc. ?
5. Have you done a Google or other search engine search? Again try several
combinations of keywords.

If you have not found your answer by any of these means, FEEL FREE TO POST.

As for myself, if I receive a question clearly answered/explained by any of these logical sources, I shall refer you to it by stating e.g. "search USCIS website." If others want to keep providing links and answers to these questions to those who do not research, that is great and they are kinder souls than I am ---- or they probably have more time.

Happy researching and best of luck to everyone on their cases.

I support you piano....:o I tried to encourage the same thing with very little success. Unbelievable:rolleyes:

Your guidelines should be copied here, and this needs to be a sticky with capitalized title.

Hi:

A moderator is more than welcome to put it up as a sticky. I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way. At the same time, I do not want to discourage people from asking questions.

There are many people on here who ask good (and sometimes puzzling) questions after having done their research. I secretly like being stumped by a question ---- it forces me to research and learn more about the topic myself.

But thoughtless questions waste everyone's time.
