I was originally scheduled for an oath ceremony in NYC on 12/21. The problem was that I had a flight to Europe scheduled on the same day, so I wouldn't have had enough time to get a US passport.
Rescheduling the oath for a later date is of course trivial, but I looked at past forum posts, and I couldn't find information on obtaining an earlier oath date. I would just like to report that it is possible
Over the weekend I scheduled an Infopass appointment for yesterday 12/11. I showed USCIS the oath letter and copies of my ticket, and told them that I felt very strongly about being able to register to vote before the NY presidential primary deadline...
They were really very kind (for listening to my somewhat capricious request) and efficient, and rescheduled the oath for this friday, 12/14.

07/0x/07 : FP Notice Received ( I -797C)
07/1x/07 : FP Completed
09/28/07 : Interview letter received
11/15/07 : Interview (NYC federal plaza)
