Rescheduling N-400 interview.

I just got my I-797C scheduling my interview for 4/28 in San Jose. I was expecting the process to take a little longer and I had made travel plans the month of April. I am really reluctant to cancel this trip and was thinking about trying to reschedule the interview. Delaying the application by 2-3 months is not a big deal for me.

Has anybody recently rescheduled their interview? Could you care to share your experience on this forum?

Well you don't know if it will be 2-3 months or longer or even shorter. You risk being lost in the system and you also risk possible delays. Some people have re-schedualed and got it very quickly, others have had problems. You will never know until you do it how long it could set you back.

Generaly rule for people doing the N-400 is not to book any trips like that when doing the N-400 process and hold off until you get your passport to then travel. Saves people from having to cancel trips or reschedualing and then having no clue when you might get the new date...
