Rescheduling interview

Hi All:

I received my AOS interview letter today and my interview is scheduled for January 21, 2009. The complication here is that my wife is about to deliver a baby around that time and I don't think I can make it to the interview. I called up the customer service line and submitted a request for a reschedule. I know that rescheduling is not encouraged, so is there any way around this situation? I have an Infopass appointment with my DO in a couple of days and is there anyway I can convince the USCIS to schedule it to a date that suits us?

They don't like people rescheduling just for convenience's sake, but your wife giving birth is more than enough reason to justify a new date! When you go for your infopass, take a letter from your doctor explaining her due date... I don't think you'll run into any problems rescheduling.
 
Hi Karthik,

As captainkit mentioned you have a good reason for reschedule. If you have a letter or papers mentioned when the expecting date is, I'm pretty sure they will reschedule. Also, when you go for your interview after your child is born, it is one of the biggest evidence to your relationship :)
